whatever players we pick i think we have to play a full line across midfield and one up front because of the amount of green untested players we will have at the back , and whos to say gunter will stay or wont have the face on because we didnt let him go to the prem , (like mardy camp did)

Some defenders on loand deffo reuqired. I think we are OK centre of park and overloaded up front. I suppose, Cohn could drop to LB and put McGugan in midfield, but really don't want to have to go back to usin ghim that way tbh

When you look at the players we have available things look pretty good

NOTTINGHAM Forest now look unlikely to win the battle to keep any of their out-of-contract players, after it emerged that Joel Lynch is close to completing a move to Championship rivals Huddersfield Town.

The defender, who finished second in the player-of-the-year awards at the Reds last season, is understood to have undergone a medical at the Galpharm Stadium last night and is likely to put pen to paper on a deal with the newly-promoted club.

If Lynch does sign for the Terriers, it would mean that none of the six players who saw their contracts expire at the start of the month will kick-off the new campaign with Steve Cotterill's side.

The news on Lynch comes barely 24 hours after skipper and fellow centre-half Luke Chambers officially sealed his move to Ipswich Town, after his City Ground contract had expired.

Winger and player-of-the-season winner Garath McCleary previously joined Premiership-bound Reading within a few weeks of the end of the season.

Fellow winger Paul Anderson, who turned down a move to Blackpool, was yesterday training on the banks of the River Trent – but at Notts County.

He is understood only to have been there to work on his fitness, rather than as a potential signing at Meadow Lane.

Goalkeeper Paul Smith and veteran midfielder George Boateng have also both been released by Forest over the summer.

Confirmed on Sky sports, Lynch signs for Huddersfield, silly boy, should have waited.
