PostSubject: Statement From The Doughty Family   Fri 13 Jul - 20:25

Today is the start of an exciting new era for a Club with a long and distinguished history.

We would like to join the Fans in offering a warm welcome to Fawaz, Abdulaziz and Omar Al Hasawi as the new owners of NFFC.

with Nigel before them, the Al Hasawi family are now the caretakers of a
proud sporting tradition and we have every confidence that they will
respect and nurture that tradition as they take the Club into the
2012/13 season and beyond.

For us, as Nigel's family, this is a
bittersweet moment. We are of course delighted that the Club is now in
safe, responsible hands and that the Fans can look forward with optimism
to the seasons ahead. But at the same time, we remember how much the
Club meant to Nigel and how much he enjoyed being part of a great family
of genuine football supporters. The change of owners, as inevitable as
it was, is a reminder of our huge loss as a family.

But while
there is some sadness, there is also joy that Nigel's legacy at the Club
he supported as man and boy is now in the hands of new owners who are
committed to building on his significant contribution to the Club and
restoring the Reds to their former glory.

This is great news for the people who really matter - the loyal Fans.

are proud that Nigel's long and treasured association with NFFC will be
remembered with the naming of the Club's academy as the "Nigel Doughty
Youth Academy" and we thank the Al Hasawi's for agreeing to honour
Nigel's memory in this way.

We would like to take this
opportunity to thank Seymour Pierce and Withers LLP who advised the
executor of Nigel's estate on the deal.

As a family, we will of
course continue to support the Club and we will be watching the boys
from Nigel's seats at the City Ground as often as we can.

To the
new owners - please accept our very best wishes for the future. We feel
sure you will grasp this opportunity to build upon the history and
tradition of this great football club.

To the Fans - thank you
for all your kind words of condolence since February. We hope and
believe that we have helped to secure the Club's future and with it
Nigel's legacy.

To the Team - its game on, boys, so C'mon you Reds!

Lucy, Helena and Michael Doughty

Difficult to add to that really.

Love Forest - Love The Doughty's.

Our new owners seem to be of the right motivation too.

God Bless You Nigel Doughty.
