PostSubject: Re: What it takes to be self-sufficient   What it takes to be self-sufficient EmptySun 17 Jun - 8:50

Good read that, but made my little brain hurt Very Happy

So a plastic stadium, balloon payments from TV rights created 15 million more than Forest.

Take the TV dosh away a couple of million differential?, re-develop the Main Stand, market the greatest club on planet!

Sell the history use the history at every opportunity, clubs with zillionaires still trying to do what we did, and some not done half of that? Very Happy

FFP will be fantastic for us, but irrelavant when we get to the Premiership.

PostSubject: Nottingham Sports brand   What it takes to be self-sufficient EmptyMon 18 Jun - 1:10

Just highlights the fact that the club has been run as a very expensive hobby by a guy who delegated the running of the club to a bunch of amateurs!

FFP without major ground investment to improve commercial revenues will leave us struggling for years.

Any new owners have got to get local Council's, businesses and fans on board to create the opportunity to allow the club to expand the stadium and develop further retail and leisure income streams in and around Trent Bridge and the City Ground.

We have all the city's major sports facilities within walking distance of one another which for a major city is unique. Yet little is done to promote "Sports Nottingham" and create a world class visitor destination for all sports to complement Trent Bridge Cricket Ground which is sold out barely 5 times a year but is the most financially profitable County Cricket club with a World Class ground!

Until Forest stops being run like a private members plaything nothing will change apart from our declining League position. The club needs investors with global sports/leisure promotion expertise to develop the Nottingham Sports brand and regenerate the area in partnership with the local Councils who need to release land and buildings to make it happen.

Six figure main sponsorship deals on a turnover of circa £16m just about sums up the ineptitude of the current management team over the Doughty era!

I have said it before, we don't have a problem with the manager or the players. All our problems stem from how the club is run by a bunch of amateurs. We need investment from someone who can exploit to the full this great team and city. Redinexile has got it right, just a plaything for some very priviliged so called directors.
